FEEDER - Studio GANG

Urban farming above the highway in Chicago. I get the impression this would have seemed implausible 5 years ago - now... well, I'd like to see it in action.

Linked by my classmate, since our class is also working with highway overpasses

Personal Skyscrapers

from the Telegraph:

Built by Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India and the 4th richest in the world, this private home overlooks Mumbai and the Arabian Sea. It requires 600 staff. The Telegraph adds:
Ambani does not appear to be influenced by calls by the Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh, for business leaders to be "role models of moderation".
It's really like he came to the architects and asked for the most dystopian form for a home they could imagine (check out those dwarfed buildings in the foreground).
Compare the final result to SITE's original plans.

waterside plaza

One of my favorite experiences - out of many- was spotting Waterside Plaza through the rain while riding downtown to Harlem during the New York Century Tour last weekend. The tour is a great way to see the New York that's not written down in guidebooks - I often had a hard time believing I was still in the city. Really recommended.
