Half marathon

It's been eight (!) years since I last ran a race, and the Brooklyn Half Marathon is the longest I've ever completed.
About 7:13 per mile on average, very happy for my first time.

Development on the Harlem River

Another proposal for a more vibrant Harlem River. I ultimately didn't present this one - this seemed to resemble the sort of thing that the community didn't want. 

It was difficult to match community desires for a safe, active waterfront with community desires for solely recreational/light commerical use. Part of the reason the waterfront is so neglected is that it can stretch for miles without any residences close to the river. New residents on the water would bring a 24 hour presence and enable easier access.

I shelved it for now, but something like this could happen anyway on a few lots further north of this site.

I finally got plants to survive in the harsh environment of Flatbush Avenue. These dinky flowers made me very happy on this rainy day.
