m.ammoth's best architecture of the decade

Just when I thought the "Best (blank) of 2009/decade" lists were over and finished, mammoth writes an amazing post on the best architecture of the 2000's.

It avoids obvious spectacle architecture and uses a broad definition of the term. The result is a list that truly reflects, through a positive lens, the spirit of the decade. The authors are genuinely excited about the work done over the previous ten years and see much to look forward to, avoiding the usual gloom employed when writing on the last decade.

There's a lot to like, and I especially enjoyed their thinking on the housing development at Quinta Monroy, Chile, pictured above, which encourages creative natural expansion by homeowners.
