Parsing Online Presence

Really cool list at one of my favorite blogs - what will this year hold for producers of content? How will changing technologies and distrubution processes transform older media?

Interesting ideas like blogger unions, daily life as packaged content, websites as forums for classes and temporary discussions, etc. I liked this one:
Antiquated precedent: Blogger or online publisher as switchboard operator - frenetically rerouting a network of patch cords. Online content management as signal routing: Information cutting across networks, redundancy inevitable but ok.

Me making remarks

I'm the latest person adding my voice to the controversy over Shepard Fairey's Obama print. The AP just claimed that the image infringes their copyright, as Fairey drew heavily from a 2006 AP photograph.

Rani quoted me on it for the Santa Fe Reporter today... I don't know if I qualify as a photographer anymore (or if I'm right) but it's nice seeing my name online.

Tokyo

"Triptych feature telling three separate tales set in Tokyo, Japan. "Shaking Tokyo" centers on a man who has lived for 10 years as a hikikomori, (a term used in Japan for people unable to adjust to society and so they never leave their homes) and what happens when he falls in love one day with a pizza delivery girl. "Interior Design" follows the story of a wannabe movie director who arrives in Tokyo with his girlfriend only to find that parts of her bones are turning into wood."

In Praise of Low-Fi

Jack Cheng celebrates disconnecting.

‘Cause before you know it, the cloud will be everywhere, and not even a cruise on a freighter ship will provide escape.
